Surprisingly, Fortnite's Best Challenges Are Actually Tough

At least Deadpool was presented in a humorous way and had his own weekly challenges to solve, which were often quite clever. Fortnite would be better served by making his challenges more difficult. Previously, at the end of each week’s challenges, if you completed them all, you would gain a special loading screen. Within that loading screen was a clue indicating the location of a Secret Battle Star. It was really fun and rewarding for players who took on all the challenges, but not just giving them that extra Battle Star – they still had to go get it.

I’ve already written about how messy and unnecessarily busy the new NPC system is. It’s harder to navigate the challenges, to see which week you’ve completed. In many ways, just seeing which challenges you face is harder than ever, while actually taking them on is easier and less interesting than ever. The second challenge would still require you to find a vase, but you should go and look near the pools that match the description. As a general rule, stick to assault rifles or SMGs when you’re first figuring out how to play Fortnite. Sniper rifles are useless under 75 metres, so although you’ll want to keep one handy do not use it in close quarters combat unless you absolutely have to.

This challenge requires the player to win at least one match of this unique game mode. It isn't terrible but isn't quite as easy to follow and can be a bit difficult to use with its slightly unfriendly user interface. Possibly the hardest challenge on this list, Cupid is all about helping love bloom on the battlefield. Using whatever weapon you see fit, your task here is to shoot at two different players while hidden, tricking them into fighting each other instead of you. Bonus points if you can do so from within a bush right next to one of the two. The best part of this strategy is that you can be sure the victorious lover will make their way over to loot their beloved, giving you an easy opportunity to gun them down them in turn.

There are a lot of good things about Season 7 of Fortnite and a few things I don’t like, but the challenges just got more ridiculous, despite the cool storytelling stuff found in the weekly legendary quests. While the player with the best aim will usually come out on top in a fight, building is absolutely key to give yourself the biggest advantage possible. To build though, you need to have materials which can only be obtained through harvesting materials. Wood is the most common and you can destroy everything from trees and bushes to chairs and wardrobes. Test out which structures give you the most materials then harvest them as you run from one location to the next to give yourself maximum resources. When you boot up the game it's automatically going to try and drop you into a squad with all the slots filled by random players.

While holding no weapons begin to dance in the center of the soccer field. There’s not really a whole lot else to this challenge, just keep quiet and go for the victory. It may not offer quite the same entertainment value as the others, what with the whole sitting in silence while playing with your friends, but it’ll definitely put your skills to the test. That’s right, you’re not allowed to talk to your teammates in this Fortnite challenge. You can use the map markers to at least help try and coordinate your movements around the map, and emotes can be used for just goofing around and celebrating. It’s the perfect Fortnite challenge for finally seeing who’s the MVP of your squad, and who the dead weight is.

Visit different Wind Turbines in a single match (0/5) — Wind turbines are located in different parts of the island, but to easily finish this task, head to Pleasant Park. There are six turbines in the mountains surrounding this Fortnite area. Just run from one to another until you’ve been to five of them. Place trap items in different matches (0/5) — Trap items can be a little hard to find, but luckily, all that is required for this challenge is to place them and not get eliminations. As soon as you obtain one, place it at the nearest building or simply create your own structure to use for the trap. Now that’s out of the way, you can see a screenshot and a map showing the Fortnite submarine location above.
